Job summary

Sonics & Materials, Inc. in Newtown, CT is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations, partnering with ownership and department leaders.

The role combines financial reporting, cost accounting for manufacturing, inventory control, internal controls, and ERP process improvements. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in manufacturing accounting, strong leadership, and CPA/CMA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
• Manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, WIP, and variance analysis.
• ERP systems proficiency; Infor SyteLine preferred; advanced Excel.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, close processes, and management reporting.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and internal controls.
• Lead ERP improvements, especially Infor SyteLine.
• Coordinate tax filings, audits, and external accounting relationships.
• Supervise accounting staff and collaborate with operations.
