Job summary

Wieland in Reading, PA is hiring a Maintenance Technician responsible for assisting in preventive maintenance of process equipment and building systems to keep production running safely and efficiently. Training period is about a year depending on experience.

The role focuses on safe use of tools, welding, pipefitting, hydraulics and electrical work (3 phase 480V; PLC knowledge). Overtime or on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Minimum of three years of electrical experience (3 phase, 480v).
• Willingness to learn welding, pipefitting, hydraulics, and machine repair.
• Able to work overtime or on call.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Pick up ordered maintenance parts, as needed utilizing the company van. – drivers license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance of all process equipment within the facility.
• Learn the preventative maintenance schedule
• Assist in building maintenance
• Proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools
• Proficient in the operation, preparation and shutdown of equipment.
• Proficient in welding, pipefitting, hydraulics, electrical (3 phase 480, PLC knowledge) and machine repair.
• Cross training required in the roll grind shop
• Trained and follow hot work program
• Trained and follow working at heights program
• Trained and follow Arc Flash program
• Able to be approved to wear a tight-fitting respirator requiring fit testing.
• Able to be certified in forklift operation
• Able to be certified in High lift operation
