Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons is seeking a Standby Maintenance Technician for a Fort Wayne, IN community. You will live on-site in a company-provided apartment, responding to after-hours emergencies and maintaining the property to high standards.

Role requires EPA certification (or ability to obtain within 120 days), HVAC experience, and strong carpentry/plumbing skills. You will work with residents and staff while upholding safety and quality guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-family property maintenance preferred.
• EPA certification required; training provided if needed.
• HVAC experience strongly preferred.
• CPO certification and pool maintenance skills preferred.
• Maintain professional appearance and communicate well with residents and staff.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the apartment community and day-to-day operations.
• Evaluate, prioritize, and resolve work orders per policies.
• Perform plumbing tasks and appliance repairs.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, water heater, boiler, and electrical issues.
• Carry out carpentry, door/drywall/caulking repairs.
• Monitor inventory of commonly used parts.
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls on a rotating basis.
