Job summary

Edward Rose & Sons in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Standby Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team, living in a company-provided apartment and responding to after-hours emergencies on a rotating basis. Responsibilities include maintaining the apartment community, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

This role requires EPA certification, OSHA knowledge, and prior multi-family maintenance experience; benefits include

Qualifications

• EPA certification required or obtained within 120 days of start date via company training
• Experience in multi-family property maintenance preferred
• OSHA regulations knowledge preferred
• HVAC experience preferred
• CPO Certification and pool maintenance skills preferred
• Ability to shovel snow and apply salt in snow season
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Able to communicate professionally with residents and co-workers

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall maintenance of the apartment community and day-to-day operations
• Evaluate, prioritize, and resolve work orders to high quality standards
• Perform plumbing tasks including pipe fittings, shut-offs, sink replacements and faucet installations
• Troubleshoot HVAC, boiler, water heater issues and appliance repairs
• Deliver carpentry work including doors, drywall, trim, caulking, and tile work
• Perform electrical repairs including switches and outlets
• Monitor inventory of common parts and supplies
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls on a rotating basis
