Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan’s Climax Molybdenum operation in Colorado seeks an on-site maintenance professional to safely maintain and repair milling equipment, conveyors, and related systems. You will support preventive maintenance, repairs, and component replacement in a high-altitude environment near Leadville.

The role requires basic industrial mechanical experience, ability to read schematics, and a willingness to work a non-standard schedule in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical/maintenance or equivalent education.
• Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
• Completion of required academic competencies and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintains, installs, and repairs equipment in the Milling plant (mills, conveyors, screens).
• Assist with component replacement on conveyors, ball mills, screen decks, lube systems, crushers, and pumps.
• Perform mechanical lubrication and preventive maintenance; inspect for wear.
• May perform welding (Stick, TIG).
• Maintain work orders and keep a safe, clean work area; perform inspections.
• Perform other duties as required.
