Job summary

Yugo is seeking a Maintenance Technician to safeguard the safety and upkeep of our on-site student housing communities. You will respond to work orders, perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and other tasks, and help maintain the property's value through regular inspections.

You will coordinate with residents, management, and vendors, participate in on-call emergencies, and keep tools and inventory organized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA Type I certification preferred.
• Pool maintenance certification preferred where required by local regulation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient with technology and online systems.
• Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders efficiently with high-quality repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, concerns and emergencies with excellent service.
• Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and appliances.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify safety concerns and address them.
• Maintain appearance, safety and functionality of the property and spaces.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents and coordinate turn activities.
• Maintain pools, spas and related equipment and ensure safety compliance.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance as scheduled.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and supplies; keep storage organized.
• Follow OSHA and safety standards; participate in safety training and meetings.
• Communicate with maintenance leadership and property management on needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality work.
• Maintain professional relationships with residents, team members and vendors.
• Assist with additional maintenance, operational and property improvement projects as needed.
