Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Maintenance Specialist ‒ Pipefitter / Boiler Repair. The role focuses on repairing and maintaining steam and hydronic heating systems and responding to service calls in district-wide facilities.

The candidate will read blueprints, follow instructions, and work with minimal supervision. A Minnesota Class D license and basic computer skills are required; on-site work is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years in plumbing, hydronics, and building maintenance repair or as an apprentice plumber.
• Valid Class D Minnesota Driver's License required.
• Ability to read architectural, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and schematic drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain steam and hydronic heating systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures including low-pressure steam boilers, burners, and control circuits.
• Respond promptly to maintenance service calls.
• Maintain department tools, equipment and vehicle inventory.
• Complete preventive maintenance and repairs safely and efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
