Job summary

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center Newark, New Jersey, United States (On-site) seeks a Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities team. Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, you will ensure building mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently and perform related duties.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 4 years of engineering experience, and relevant licenses (Black Seal Boiler, CFC) plus HVAC knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of I.U.O.E. training program or equivalent required.
• Four (4) years experience as an Engineer.
• Black Seal Boiler License.
• CFC Certification.
• Basic engineering & HVAC knowledge.
• Able to lift and carry heavy objects from 50 to 100 pounds.
• Must be or become a member of Local 68 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Start equipment and make temperature adjustments according to schedule.
• Tour mechanical spaces to ensure all equipment is running properly.
• Complete work orders as required.
• Work on carpentry and plumbing projects as required.
• Perform related duties as required.
