Job summary

Akima Intra-Data (AID), an Akima company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Carpenter to perform carpentry tasks across new construction, remodeling and repair projects.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational carpentry training, a valid US driver’s license, and at least five years of combined commercial and residential carpentry experience with strong safety knowledge. On-site work at facilities is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires vocational training or apprenticeship in the carpentry field or equivalent.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• Minimum of five years’ documented experience in the Carpenter field, commercial and residential.
• Must have an excellent understanding of safety directives and polices regarding carpenter work.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of carpentry related tasks, including new construction, remodeling, renovation and demolition.
• Constructs, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs.
• Builds forms, frames, ceilings and roofs with common materials to include lumber, plywood, wafer board, sheetrock, steel studs, foam board and cement board.
• Fabricates items according to designs, blueprints, drawings and sketches.
• Install and finish sheetrock to include patching and repairing.
• Installs tile, vinyl, carpet, acoustical, ceramic.
• Repair doors, roofs, ceilings, stairs, floors, windows and roll-up doors.
• Maintains equipment, ensures good housekeeping in shop areas, and work site area.
• Performs other duties or assignments as required.
