Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support primary care teams at Washington, DC area locations. You will prepare patients for examinations, perform essential nursing tasks, and collaborate with providers to deliver high-quality care.

The role requires an LPN license, CPR certification, and 6 months of primary care experience; travel between designated sites may be required. Benefits are provided for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved LPN School of Nursing.
• Current NJ LPN License. Current CPR certification.
• Experience in primary care preferred, minimum 6 months in a physician practice.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Practice Leadership to conduct Daily Huddles and Weekly Care Team meetings to review population health data.
• Prepares patient for exam by obtaining and documenting vital signs and chief complaint; prepares exam room.
• Provides general medical care such as administering medications and performing first aid as ordered by physician.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection; administers vaccines and conducts required documentation; performs tests (e.g., EKG, pulmonary function).
• Coordinates test and referral tracking to support care coordination efforts.
• Leads patient education efforts and trains Medical Assistants in delivering health coaching and motivational interviewing.
