Job summary

OM Produce is seeking a Logistics & Transportation Manager to own end-to-end logistics and transportation from inbound freight to delivery to customers. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership of drivers, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and safe operations from suppliers to the warehouse and onward to customers.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in food distribution or perishables, strong DOT/FMCSA knowledge, and the ability to lead a team while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• Deep experience in food distribution, fresh produce, perishables, or related high-volume logistics.
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, fleet management, and carrier operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and optimize daily delivery routes to maximize efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Manage inbound freight scheduling and negotiate rates with carriers and 3PLs.
• Supervise drivers, coach and onboard staff, and lead the logistics team.
• Oversee fleet maintenance, fuel programs, and compliance with DOT/FMCSA.
• Monitor logistics budget, track KPIs and report performance to leadership.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Warehouse, Sales, and Customer Service to align priorities.
• Identify process improvements and leverage routing software and ERP tools.
