Job summary

University Edge & Dickinson Lofts is seeking a Lead HVAC Maintenance Technician to oversee on-site HVAC systems and the preventive-maintenance program for a student housing community in Greenville, NC. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain systems, mentor technicians, and ensure 100% move-in readiness during peak turnover.

Requires EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred) with 3+ years of hands-on HVAC experience in multifamily or student housing, and the ability to lead a small maintenance

Qualifications

• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred) is required for refrigerant work.
• 3+ years of hands-on HVAC maintenance experience, ideally in multifamily or student housing.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across residential HVAC systems; read schematics and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical components.
• Experience leading, training, or mentoring technicians, or readiness to step into a lead role.
• Experience with property management/work-order software and basic digital reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC maintenance and set the pace for on-site team; diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems.
• Own the preventive-maintenance program and ensure pre-summer readiness across all units.
• Mentor technicians and share best practices; provide technical guidance on diagnostics and repairs.
• Coordinate with Community Manager on turn timelines and capital needs.
