Job summary

Precision, Inc. in Corning, IA is seeking a Laser Specialist to program and operate a laser-cutting machine according to customer specifications and production schedules.

You will load materials, verify part accuracy with calipers and measurement tools, and minimize scrap while coordinating with other departments on the shop floor. A HS diploma and some CNC/laser experience are preferred, with on-site first shift responsibilities and a forklift license as a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1-3 months related experience or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior CNCs or laser-operated equipment experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate and program laser cutter using manual and computer controls.
• Load and unload materials according to machine specifications.
• Maximize material usage by minimizing scrap or waste.
• Verify part accuracy using measuring instruments, prints and schedules.
• Sort and organize parts by size.
• Monitor filtration system.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
• Coordinate production with other departments.
• Stay informed on materials to be ordered.
