Job description

Skilled Laser Operator to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team. Hours: Monday-Friday 4:30pm-2:30am. This role involves operating laser cutting machines, ensuring quality production, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

  • Operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
  • Perform setup, calibration, and adjustments on laser equipment as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
  • Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and production schedules.
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with CNC programming and operation, particularly in laser cutting.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Knowledge of electrical discharge machining, plasma cutting, CNC lathe, stamping press, CNC milling machine, welding, and sheet metal fabrication is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery effectively.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
  • Experience in quality inspection processes to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
