Job summary

University of Virginia Department of Recreation seeks a Landscape & Maintenance Technician to perform general landscape and maintenance work for indoor and outdoor spaces on-site in Charlottesville, VA. The role ensures debris removal, snow/ice control, and routine completion of work orders with safety compliance.

Primary duties include extensive landscape tasks and facility maintenance, lifting, driving, and teamwork in all weather.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of experience in landscape or maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape tasks such as weed pulling, mulching, leaf removal, mowing, pruning, planting, and general ground maintenance.
• Carry out maintenance tasks including transporting equipment, minor painting, drywall work, and equipment repairs.
• Respond to weather and safety conditions to ensure accessible walkways and safe grounds; assist with events and projects.
