Job summary

BioLabs Rochester, MN seeks a Lab Operations Manager to oversee daily lab and facility operations on-site, supporting life science entrepreneurs in a collaborative environment.

You will manage equipment maintenance, vendor relations, and safety compliance while leading onboarding/offboarding and ensuring clean, safe spaces across the site. Travel to other BioLabs locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology/chemistry or related life sciences.
• 5+ years lab management experience in academic or commercial labs.
• 2+ years supervisory or managerial experience leading technical staff.
• Advanced knowledge of cellular, molecular, and microbiology techniques and waste management.
• Willingness to be on-call for site-related issues after hours.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with attention to quality control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily lab and facility operations, including emergencies.
• Manage equipment maintenance, purchasing, installation, and vendor relations.
• Act as site EHS officer; manage chemical inventories and hazardous waste protocols.
• Ensure regulatory and safety protocol compliance.
• Lead resident onboarding/offboarding and equipment training.
• Foster a collaborative, clean, and safe lab environment.
• Manage lab supply inventory and space allocation.
• Be on-call outside business hours for site-related issues.
• Participate with network teams to share best practices.
• Other duties as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in biology/chemistry or related life sciences

Master's degree preferred
