Job summary

Newlab in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a hands-on Biolab Technician to support and evolve our laboratory facilities within the Product Realization team. This part-time role maintains lab infrastructure, supports member research and biotech prototyping, and ensures a safe, compliant environment.

You will provide equipment maintenance, onboarding safety sessions, SOP updates, and mentorship for lab users, while coordinating with startups, engineers, and scientists building cutting-edge biological

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in wet lab or shared incubator.
• Knowledge of chemical hygiene and biosafety basics.
• Experience operating standard lab tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lab infrastructure, inventory, and GMP-like SOPs for Biolab tools.
• Lead onboarding safety orientations and mentor lab users.
• Provide equipment maintenance and real-time troubleshooting support.
• Oversee SDS management, disposal protocols, and safety inspections.
• Track maintenance logs and lab workflows in digital systems.
