Job summary

Alpha seeks a full-time, on-site Academic Coach at a Seattle campus to guide K-3 students through app-based core learning and targeted reading sessions. You will run morning launches and life-skills workshops, sustaining daily goals and data-driven coaching throughout the day.

You have 3+ years working with children, 2+ years teaching reading in K–3, and structured-literacy training or a master’s degree in reading. Relocation support is available for this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years directly with children aged 4–9 in teaching, coaching, or similar roles.
• At least 2 years of that experience teaching reading in K–3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS/IMSE/OG/etc.) or a master’s in reading.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning and closing gaps.
• Running targeted reading sessions with 2–4 students using diagnostic data.
• Leading morning launch, workshops, and daily campus routines.
• Guiding students toward weekly app goals with gamification and currency.
• Staying with students from launch to closing, addressing frustration with a plan.
