Job summary

Ontra in New York City is seeking an IT Support Engineer to be the on-the-ground tech resource for our NY office. You will resolve hardware, software, and networking issues and ensure conference rooms and devices are ready for daily operations.

You’ll set up desks for new hires, manage in-office tickets, and coordinate with a fully remote IT Operations team to keep systems running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on IT or help desk support experience, including hardware and software troubleshooting and ticketing systems.
• AV and Desktop Support: experience supporting conference rooms and AV tech alongside general desktop support.
• Able to handle light physical office tasks and lift 25–50 pounds.
• Independent on-site work three days a week while collaborating with a remote IT Operations team.
• Familiarity with Freshservice, 1Password, Okta, Apple device management, Google Workspace, and Zoom/Neat is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own On-site IT Support: be the go-to technical resource for Ontra's NY office, resolving hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Keep Conference Rooms Meeting-Ready: run AV and room checks so meetings start on time.
• Set New Hires Up For Success: prepare desks, equipment, and accounts for new employees.
• Support Ticket Queue: triage and resolve in-office and global tickets, especially for remote operations.
• Keep the Office Running Smoothly: coordinate with vendors, track inventory, and handle light facilities tasks.
• Partner Closely With a Remote Team: collaborate with the remote IT Operations team via Slack and tickets.
