Job summary

Banyan Treatment Centers, a nationally recognized leader in behavioral and mental health care, is seeking a detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our on-site intake team in Milford, DE.

This part-time role (24 hours per week) supports admissions by coordinating paperwork, verifying benefits, collecting documentation, and collaborating with clinical and administrative staff to ensure a smooth transition into care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a related field or 1+ year healthcare experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient and financial information with professionalism and discretion.
• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic documentation.
• KIPU and Salesforce experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient admissions and ensure intake documentation is completed accurately and timely.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility per payer requirements.
• Assist patients and families with financial discussions and admission paperwork.
• Create and maintain patient records in electronic systems (Kipu, Salesforce).
• Upload and manage admission documents including insurance verifications and consent forms.
• Communicate with admissions, clinical, and administrative teams to facilitate seamless admissions.
• Monitor systems for pending admissions and follow-up actions.
• Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance, ID and financial information.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families and referral sources.
• Support departmental administrative needs and other duties as assigned.
