Job summary

Palm Beach Youth Academy seeks an Instructor for Florida Scholars Academy to support at-risk students in residential facilities. The role emphasizes remediation, acceleration and academic growth, teaching assigned subjects with strong classroom management and collaboration with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Florida teaching certificate (or eligible).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
• Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in content area or active EPI/MAT enrollment with eligibility/temporary certificate
• ESE, ESOL, Reading endorsements preferred
• Experience teaching in subject area or approved instructional program

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and implement engaging instructional activities in assigned subject(s)
• Identify and modify instructional resources for diverse learners
• Supervise students and maintain attendance records
• Grade assignments and provide counseling on academic progress
• Collaborate with supervisor and peers to enhance instruction
• Communicate with students, families and stakeholders within timelines
• Demonstrate professional and ethical standards in all duties
