Job summary

Florida Virtual School JoAnn Bridges Academy – Greenville, Florida is seeking an Instructor for an on-site, full-time role at a DJJ facility. Youll teach one core subject to small groups, blend in-person and digital tools, track attendance and grades, and mentor students in a mission-driven program.

Requirements include a Bachelors degree and a valid Florida teaching certificate (or temporary cert/ enrollment in EPI or MAT).

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate or temporary certificate / enrollment in an EPI or MAT program.
• Comfortable working full-time onsite at a DJJ facility.
• Willing to attend professional development, meetings, and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Teach core academic subjects to small groups of students.
• Plan creative and interactive lessons meeting students where they are.
• Build trust and create a safe space for learning and growth.
• Track attendance and grades and help students set goals.
• Work with other educators to share ideas and build success.
• Tutor students 1-on-1 or in small groups.
• Use both in-person and digital tools to blend tech with human interaction.
• Mentor, motivate, and support students daily.
