Florida Scholars Academy is seeking a full-time instructor to teach in Florida DJJ facilities, empowering students to catch up, level up, and thrive academically. The role blends in-person and digital tools in a mission-driven, values-aligned environment.

You’ll build strong relationships, mentor students, and grow professionally while delivering engaging, student-centered instruction onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid temporary certificate / enrollment in EPI or MAT program.
• Full-time onsite at a DJJ facility.
• Willing to attend professional development and trainings.
• Passionate about growth-both for your students and yourself.

Responsibilities

• Teach core academic subjects to small groups.
• Plan interactive lessons that meet students where they are.
• Build trust and create a safe space for learning and growth.
• Track attendance and grades, and help students set goals.
• Collaborate with other educators to share ideas and build success.

Must-Haves

• Bachelor's Degree
• A valid Florida teaching certificate - or a temporary certificate / proof of enrollment in an EPI or MAT program
• Comfortable working full-time onsite at a DJJ facility

• Passionate about growth-both for your students and yourself

Extra Credit (Preferred but Not Required)

• Certification in ESE, Reading, ESOL, or Gifted Education
• Experience teaching in non-traditional settings or with at-risk youth
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
