Florida Scholars Academy in Okeechobee, FL, seeks an Instructor to deliver high-quality, blended learning experiences within residential facilities across the state. The role emphasizes remediation, acceleration, and academic growth for at-risk students.

You will plan lessons, monitor attendance, grade work, and communicate progress with families while collaborating with a team to meet school goals. The position is on-site with travel requirements and professional development opportunities.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in content area assigned OR proof of active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program AND either a valid Florida state-issued Statement of Eligibility OR valid Temporary Certificate in content area assigned.
• Exceptional Student Educational (ESE) Certification, preferred
• Gifted Endorsement, preferred
• English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Endorsement, preferred
• Reading Endorsement, preferred

Responsabilidades

• Plan, prepare, and implement engaging instructional activities in assigned subject(s) that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Be responsible for the supervision of students assigned to the class.
• Conduct roll calls, counts, and maintain attendance records.
• Grade student assignments and assessments and follow grading procedures.
• Collaborate with supervisor and peers to enhance the instructional environment.
• Communicate with students, parents/guardians, and internal and external stakeholders within established timelines.
• Participate in blended learning models, including online and classroom instruction at residential facilities across the state.
• Provide instructional tutoring as directed.
• Travel to assigned facility to provide services under DJJ supervision.
• Demonstrate strong technology proficiency and the ability to troubleshoot common issues.
