Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Resident Engineer to represent the company at a key OEM customer. The role requires expertise in plastics injection molding and automotive manufacturing, serving as the technical and commercial link between the customer and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience with part design, tooling, molding processes, and program management, and will interact directly with OEM engineering and purchasing to resolve issues and drive new product launches.

Qualifications

• Experience in plastics injection molding and/or automotive manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of part design, tooling, and molding processes.
• Experience with quality systems and program management.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface between our company and the OEM.
• Support quoting, new business development, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead product development from concept to production launch.
• Coordinate design reviews, tooling, mold trials, and engineering changes.
• Troubleshoot molding, tooling, dimensional, and quality issues.
• Collaborate with OEM engineering, purchasing, quality, and program teams.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in automotive plastics or Tier 1/2 supplier environments.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
