Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced automotive/commercial vehicle engineer in the United States to drive component and system development across the product lifecycle. You will craft designs, perform packaging and feasibility studies, and support CAE, prototyping, testing, sourcing, and validation efforts while addressing design, manufacturing, and quality challenges.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive/commercial vehicle engineering experience.
• 2+ years CAD experience (CATIA 3Dx, 3D Experience or V5).
• GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• DFMA & Serviceability principles.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Define component and system engineering requirements.
• Create and develop engineering designs and concepts.
• Perform packaging, tolerance, and feasibility studies.
• Develop CAD models, drawings, and engineering releases.
• Support CAE, prototype builds, testing, Sourcing and validation activities.
• Resolve design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues.
• Collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Manage engineering changes and documentation.
• Proven background in concept‑to‑production vehicle development and problem‑solving
