Job summary

Bay City Boiler, Inc. in Fresno, CA is seeking a Boiler Technician to install, maintain and repair commercial and industrial boiler systems on-site.

You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and document all work in service reports while ensuring safety and compliance on every call. Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with boiler controls and combustion, and the ability to work independently in the field.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude in boiler systems and related components.
• Experience with combustion, boiler controls, instrumentation, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and codes/standards.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and equipment specs.
• Effective communication for on-site customer interactions and documenting work.
• Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple service calls.
• Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record for travel.
• Previous boiler/HVAC/electrical/industrial maintenance experience beneficial.
• Technical training or certification in boiler operation, HVAC, or industrial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair boiler systems and related equipment.
• Conduct inspections and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues.
• Complete preventative maintenance and document work in service reports.
• Respond to service calls and assist with emergency repairs.
• Collaborate with team to ensure safe, compliant operation on client sites.
• Explain findings and recommended solutions to customers on-site.
