Motion Industries in Westland, MI is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site service, installation and repair of hydraulics and related equipment for customer sites. The role includes diagnostics, preventive maintenance and occasional on-call work to support uptime.

Under direct supervision, you will read hydraulic schematics, operate shop equipment safely and communicate clearly with customers and team members.

Qualifications

Typically requires a technical degree with 0–3 years of related experience.
Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work with customers, peers and management to resolve issues.
Valid driver’s license preferred; company vehicles may be monitored.

Responsibilities

Performs on-site services for new and existing clients, including on-site emergency repairs and upgrades on a 24/7 on-call basis.
Responsible for installation, diagnostics, repair and support for equipment at customer sites.
Diagnose problems, assess extent, document findings, and decide repairs or replacements.
Conducts technical analysis of product implementations and enhancements to meet customer specifications.
Keeps customers informed on service status and suggests system improvements or repairs.
Works under supervision following guidelines to perform moderately complex repairs and installations.
Ensures compliance with local and national regulations and Motion's safety standards.
Provides technical support and training to customers on operation or maintenance of system equipment.
Communicates technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure satisfaction.
