Job summary

SpaceXAI in Memphis, TN is seeking an Ops/Build Engineer to design, build, operate, and maintain electrical infrastructure for AI training campuses. You will join a small on-site team to scale high-capacity power systems aligned with compute demand.

This role requires hands-on field work, NFPA 70/70B/70E, NESC and IEEE compliance, and on-call support. Travel up to 25% and on-site work in Memphis are expected. Leadership and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field; or 8+ years of substation field experience.
• Experience in commissioning, testing, build or utility operations on high-power, high-voltage systems.
• Willing to work on-site in Memphis, TN and travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Take high- and medium-voltage assets from ground to load and maintain reliability.
• Own substation and transmission energization planning, pre-energization checks, and phase verification.
• Direct NETA acceptance testing on breakers, transformers, GIS, and related components.
• Execute relay testing and SCADA/telemetry checkout with site and utility.
• Coordinate outages, write switching procedures, and manage electrical safety program.
