Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Lead Engineer for Transmission & Distribution to design, operate, and maintain high-capacity electrical infrastructure for AI training campuses. The role is based on-site in Memphis, TN, with travel to other sites as needed and a small, hands-on team environment.

You will own HV switchyard architecture, interconnection processes, protection philosophy, and generation interface while coordinating with utilities and the balancing authority to energize campuses on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in electrical or related engineering field.
  • 10+ years in transmission, substation, or generation interconnection engineering.
  • Experience carrying a project through utility or ISO interconnection to energization.

Responsibilities

  • Own generation terminals to interconnection down to the medium-voltage bus and utility relationship.
  • Lead interconnection process with the local distributor and balancing authority, including studies and exhibits.
  • Own campus protection philosophy and the settings management database.
  • Direct Design, Ops/Build, Protection & Controls, and Power System Engineer seats on the T&D team.
  • Travel up to 25% for factory witness testing and site engagements.
