Job summary

SpaceXAI's High Power Engineering team is seeking a Design Engineer to design, build, operate, and maintain electrical infrastructure for AI training campuses in Memphis, TN. You will work with a small on‑site team to scale high‑capacity power systems in line with compute demand.

The role emphasizes hands‑on field work, safety, and delivering issued‑for‑construction drawings using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience in data center, industrial, or utility facilities.
• Experience producing issued‑for‑construction drawings in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit.
• Knowledge of NEC Articles 110, 215, 240, 250, 310, and 450.
• Medium‑voltage cable system design experience.
• Experience with power systems analysis software: ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, Matlab, PSCAD.
• Revit or BIM coordination experience.
• EIT certification or on track for PE license.
• Experience on multi‑phase build projects.
• Demonstrated initiative and strong analytical/engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain single‑line diagrams, three‑line diagrams, panel schedules, cable schedules, conduit layouts, and grounding plans.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop, cable ampacity and derating, conduit fill, and pull‑tension analysis.
• Size MV/LV transformers, switchgear, busway, and feeders; specify impedance and ratings.
• Write equipment specs and bid evaluations for ring‑main units, transformers, switchgear, busway, and PDUs.
• Supply model inputs to protection and power‑system studies: nameplate data, impedances, cable constants.
• Resolve field RFIs and issue design changes during construction.
• Maintain organized design and asset documentation for Data Center electrical packages.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, NESC, and IEEE standards.
