Job summary

Pita Way is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our growing, multi-location restaurant organization from our Waterford, Michigan headquarters. This on-site role reports to the HR Director and requires strong judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to handle multiple employee matters.

The ideal candidate will manage employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, payroll support, and HR compliance across locations, ensuring consistent processes and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in generalist role.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience handling employee relations and workplace investigations.
• Experience with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee documentation.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HR resource for managers, field leaders, and employees.
• Respond to employee relations concerns and conduct investigations.
• Partner with HR Director on high-risk matters.
• Coach managers on documentation and employee relations practices.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and background checks.
• Oversee I-9 and employment eligibility documentation.
• Maintain HRIS employee data and records.
• Support compliance with wage-and-hour requirements.
