Job summary

Pita Way is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support employees and leadership across ~55 restaurants and two additional concepts. This on-site role at the Waterford, Michigan headquarters reports to the HR Director and focuses on employee relations, onboarding, payroll support, and compliance.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple employee matters with confidentiality, coach managers on HR practices, and help scale HR processes as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent HR experience considered.
• 3+ years HR Generalist or similar experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Experience handling employee relations and investigations.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and documentation.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR resource for managers, field leaders, and employees.
• Conduct workplace investigations and prepare summaries.
• Coach managers on documentation and employee relations practices.
• Oversee onboarding, hiring processes, and offer letter preparation.
• Assist with payroll-related questions and timekeeping issues.
• Ensure compliance with wage-and-hour and leave requirements.
• Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data.
• Support HR audits and policy updates.
• Support multi-unit restaurant operations and rapid growth scenarios.
