Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Housing Specialist I in California to identify housing options for program participants and help them achieve independent living. You will work with the services team through assessment, planning, engagement and delivery to support move‑in and connections to community resources.

This on-site role requires fingerprint clearance, TB screening and immunization records; bilingual Spanish is preferred, and HMIS experience is a plus for client data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related discipline, or equivalent.
• Experience with veterans, recovery or homelessness is preferred.
• TB screening and immunization records up to date.

Responsibilities

• Identify housing options suitable for homeless participants and refer to VOALA shelters as needed.
• Create a housing database linking tenants to apartments and coordinate with landlords.
• Assist move-in activities, rental negotiations, and service referrals.
• Coordinate follow-up with case management and community resources.
