Job summary

PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) is seeking a Residential Coordinator for the Fontaine Inn site in San Jose, CA. You will help ensure safety and meet the basic needs of interim housing guests while promoting established guidelines and a stable environment.

The role supports meal preparation, phone coverage, and general facility duties, collaborating with case management and operations to help guests achieve their goals.

Qualifications

• Gather and interpret data, identifying trends to inform decisions with accuracy.

• Communicate clearly in writing and speaking to inform and engage.
• Take initiative and handle additional responsibilities proactively.
• Analyze information and solve problems with sound reasoning.
• Maintain ethical standards and professional boundaries in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Record progress notes after every contact with participants or collateral contacts.
• Provide facility tours to guests and new program participants.
• Support case managers and participants to achieve goals.
• Maintain clean, hospitable interim housing spaces and provide basic needs.
• Collaborate with case management and operations to ensure safety and order.
• Offer crisis intervention focused on developing coping skills and independence.
• Apply evidence-based practices like Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction.
• Use lived experience to build rapport and engage participants in services.
• Provide information, referrals, and advocacy for identified needs as possible.
• Connect participants to community resources and develop linkages.
• Promote and enforce interim housing values, guidelines and rules.
• Monitor phone lines and respond to inquiries; deliver high-quality customer service.
