Job summary

Harris & Harris, Ltd. in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Help Desk Analyst to join our Information Technology team. The role provides daily desktop, network, and telecom support in a Windows environment, with on-site work at our Downtown Chicago office.

We value friendly, professional candidates with at least one year of help desk experience, a high school diploma, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows. Regular hours are 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with after-hours and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a help desk or similar role.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for desktop systems software, hardware and peripherals, including printers, phones, handhelds and remote laptops in a Windows environment.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Provide daily Active Directory administration of users, desktops and file/folder permissions.
• Maintain and update the ticket tracking, asset management and inventory tracking systems.
• Responsible for user setups, moves and system permissions.
• Articulate clear instructions and troubleshooting information to match the employee’s knowledge level.
