Job summary

Froedtert Health in West Bend, WI is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for an on-site 0.875 FTE shift in the ICU/MCU environment. The role supports inpatient care with clerical and coordination duties, interfacing with physicians, nursing staff and families to streamline patient care and downtime procedures.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of HUC experience, knowledge of medical terminology, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Training and licensure as HUC are preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months experience as a Health Unit Coordinator is preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge required or must satisfactorily complete course within first 6 months of employment.
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of formal Health Unit Coordinator training program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing unit communication and activities with physicians, nursing staff, other departments, professional staff, patients, and families related to patient care.
• Manages the desk area of the inpatient unit, facilitating the use of technology and coordinating downtime procedures.
