Job summary

Forward Air Corp. in Humble, TX is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, stage, and move freight. You will use handheld scanners and company systems to ensure accurate documentation, while supporting dock productivity and safety.

This full-time role requires a valid forklift certification and 3+ years of warehouse experience. Expect 8- to 12-hour shifts with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Certification: Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating equipment).
• Experience: 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Communication: English proficiency to understand safety and instructions.
• Arithmetic: Ability to read numbers, barcodes, and verify weights.
• Technology: Willingness to learn handheld scanners and freight-tracking devices.
• Equipment: Safely operate forklifts and other MHE with training.

Responsibilities

• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and warehouses.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label and scan freight to ensure documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and report safety or equipment concerns.
