Job summary

The State-of-South-Carolina Cheraw Fish Hatchery seeks a Manager to oversee all aspects of culture and harvest operations. You will supervise staff, coordinate resources, and ensure production aligns with annual goals. This role requires strong data handling, reporting, and field supervision in an outdoor setting.

On-site residency is required, with readiness for 24/7 on-call duties and collaboration on state-wide hatchery projects and outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or a relevant bachelor's with experience in fish, wildlife or marine management.
• Strong background in biology, chemistry or wildlife management as required.
• Ability to collect and manage data and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Regulate and supervise culture and harvest of fish at Cheraw Hatchery.
• Ensure production meets annual goals set by Hatchery Coordinator.
• Coordinate manpower and equipment for pond stocking and transport.
• Oversee maintenance of grounds, ponds, buildings and residence.
• Be on-call 24 hours/day.
• Maintain hatchery records, reports, budgets, and procurement data.
• Supervise hatchery staff daily and support regional projects as needed.
