Job summary

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife seeks a Fish Culture Supervisor to oversee operations of a state fish culture facility, including fish husbandry, broodstock management, budgeting, and outreach. The role requires on-site leadership of staff and coordination with the Superintendent and external partners.

The position emphasizes program development, safety, and compliance, with a strong focus on statewide recreational fishing enhancement and native fish restoration.

Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced education in biology, fish culture or related field.
• Experience in a controlled environment handling operations and regulatory matters.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and provide admin oversight of a fish culture facility.
• Supervise the Fish Culture Assistant Supervisor and staff.
• Oversee fish husbandry, broodstock management, and facility maintenance.
• Develop and implement structured public educational and outreach programs.
• Assist with budgeting, funding, and procurement for facility operations.
• Ensure compliance with wastewater licenses and 24-7 facility security.
• Coordinate with leadership and external partners to meet program goals.
