Job summary

Summit Companies is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician in Pittsburgh, PA to install, inspect, test, and maintain fire suppression systems in commercial and industrial facilities. You will read plans, troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, document work, and interact with clients on-site to ensure safe, code-compliant operation.

The role requires reading technical drawings, strong problem-solving, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

Hands-on skills in installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, system schematics, and applicable codes.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving for mechanical and basic electrical components.
Effective communication and customer service when interacting with clients and team.
Commitment to safety per OSHA standards and company policies.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to sites.
Prior fire protection/related trades experience preferred.
NICET certification / licenses a plus.
Ability to work on-site and lift/carry equipment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret plans and technical drawings to install and service systems.
Diagnose issues, perform repairs or adjustments, document work per standards.
Coordinate with project managers and field team to complete service and urgent responses.
Explain findings and recommendations to clients on-site to ensure safety and compliance.
