Job summary

American Millwork LLC in Elkhart, Indiana is seeking an on-site Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions.

You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage the monthly close, strengthen internal controls, and provide financial insight to inform leadership decisions. Cost accounting and IT oversight would be a bonus, with strong collaboration across finance and operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems; NetSuite a plus; advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Manage monthly and annual close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Oversee cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and financial partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting.
• Develop and monitor meaningful financial KPIs.
• Responsible for risk management including collections and insurance.
