Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Field Staff Engineer in California to perform field testing and inspection of concrete and soils on construction sites, leveraging ACI and AWS certifications.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience, a Bachelor's in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, strong analytical skills, and the ability to travel to multiple sites.

You will collaborate with project teams, prepare detailed reports, maintain equipment, and uphold safety and quality standards on every job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in concrete field testing, project engineering, geotechnical engineering, or similar roles.
• Valid ACI or AWS certification.
• Proficiency with testing equipment and tools (e.g., compaction testing; Nuclear Gauge a plus).
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods, especially concrete and soils.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare detailed, accurate reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to various construction sites.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, sampling, and inspection of concrete and soils on construction sites.
• Prepare and submit accurate field reports on test results and inspections.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to meet specs and quality standards.
• Assist in evaluating field and laboratory data and provide recommendations.
• Monitor and document construction activities related to soil and concrete work.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
• Provide technical assistance to project team and clients.
• Adhere to safety procedures and regulations on site.
• Engage in ongoing learning to stay updated with industry trends.
