Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Field Staff Engineer in California to perform field testing and inspection of concrete and soils on construction sites, leveraging ACI and AWS certifications.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant experience, a Bachelor's in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, strong analytical skills, and the ability to travel to multiple sites.

You will collaborate with project teams, prepare detailed reports, maintain equipment, and uphold safety and quality standards on every job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in concrete field testing, project engineering, geotechnical engineering, or similar roles.
• Valid ACI or AWS certification.
• Proficiency with testing equipment and tools (e.g., compaction testing; Nuclear Gauge a plus).
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods, especially concrete and soils.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare detailed, accurate reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to various construction sites.
• Valid driver's license.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a leading engineering firm, working on a diverse range of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering and a deep understanding of ACI Concrete standards and AWS standards in welding. This role demands a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. The successful candidate will be responsible for field testing, sampling, and inspection of concrete and soils on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• 1. Perform field testing, sampling, and inspection of concrete and soils in accordance with established procedures and standards.
• 2. Prepare and submit accurate and timely field reports on the results of the tests and inspections.
• 3. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the project specifications and quality standards.
• 4. Assist in the evaluation of field and laboratory test data and provide recommendations based on the findings.
• 5. Monitor and document construction activities related to soil and concrete work.
• 6. Maintain and calibrate all testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
• 7. Provide technical assistance to the project team and clients as needed.
• 8. Comply with all safety procedures and regulations on the construction site.
• 9. Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
