Job summary

van den Boom & Associates (vdBA) seeks a Field Engineer to serve as the in-person technical presence at client sites, performing deskside support, hardware installs, and hands-on troubleshooting. You will deploy Meraki networking, support Windows and macOS endpoints, and assist with server/AD tasks under senior guidance.

Ideal candidates have MSP experience, strong communication skills, and are comfortable traveling within the local metro area.

Qualifications

• Must come from an MSP with multi-client support experience.
• Hands-on Meraki networking experience is required.
• Solid Windows endpoint and Microsoft 365 support background.
• MacOS provisioning, configuration and troubleshooting in mixed env.
• Willingness to work on-site with a professional client presence.
• Strong written and verbal communication; organized with follow-through.
• Experience owning Tier 1/2 tickets and escalating when needed.
• Reliable transport and ability to travel locally within the metro area.

Responsibilities

• Serve as in-person technical presence at client sites, including deskside support and hardware installs.
• Handle on-site work, deployments, moves/adds/changes and on-site escalations.
• Maintain professional conduct with client staff and executives.
• Deploy and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki networking across client environments.
• Support VLANs, firewall rules, wireless, VPN, and ISP issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and carriers to resolve connectivity problems.
• Support Windows/Microsoft 365 and macOS endpoints in managed environments.
• Provision, image, patch, and enforce security baselines via Intune/RMM.
• Assist with server, Active Directory, and backup/disaster-recovery tasks.
• Own Tier 1/2 tickets end to end and document in PSA system.
• Follow runbooks, contribute to knowledge base, and keep records current.
