Job summary

LAC Federal seeks an experienced Librarian to provide professional library, research, reference, collection management, and technical services in support of a federal government customer in Northern Virginia. The Librarian will work on-site in a highly secure environment, enabling access to authoritative print and electronic information resources for government personnel.

Preference will be given to candidates with active TS/SCI or SECRET clearance and strong skills in research,

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Active TS/SCI or SECRET clearance preferred.
• Experience providing library, research, reference, information, or technical services.
• Ability to conduct complex research using online databases, catalogs, and web resources.
• Knowledge of cataloging and metadata standards (MARC 21, LCSH, LCNAF).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional reference and research services to government personnel.
• Support circulation, interlibrary loan, document delivery, serials, and daily library operations.
• Conduct searches using authoritative resources and assist users in locating materials.
• Assist with cataloging, metadata creation, and bibliographic record maintenance.
• Develop research guides and instructional materials; maintain SOPs and knowledge bases.
• Administer electronic resources and library services platforms.
