Job summary

Avera DeSmet Memorial Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain facilities and assets including buildings, grounds, and equipment on a PRN basis. The role involves ensuring a safe facility environment and performing a variety of maintenance tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC work, and coordinating with contractors as required. Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Three to six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Drivers License required.

Responsibilities

• Performs building inspections, replaces parts, and oversees heating and plumbing, outdoor grounds, landscaping, and snow/ice removal to maintain a safe facility environment.
• Performs basic carpentry and maintenance such as painting, remodeling projects, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks.
• Performs routine repair and maintenance on beds, wheelchairs, kitchen equipment, furniture, and office equipment.
