Job summary

The Community Builders is seeking a dedicated Janitor in Chicago to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of our communities. Under the Service Maintenance Manager, you will perform interior and exterior cleaning, manage turnover spaces, and support maintenance and landscaping tasks.

The role requires five in-office days per week and reliable transportation. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, an ability to communicate in English, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and perform outdoor tasks.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash cans and clean windows, walls, floors, stairs, and carpets.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior grounds and trash areas.
• Support maintenance staff in landscaping tasks including sweeping sidewalks, raking, planting flowers and installing mulch.
• Clean vacant apartments on turnover.
• Perform smoke/battery replacements, light bulb replacements and assist with minor deficiencies.
• Assist in snow removal and weather-event cleanup.
