Job summary

Wieland is seeking an Environmental/Wastewater Technician to join our on-site team in Pine Hall, North Carolina. You will conduct tests and field investigations to support environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel in identifying pollutant sources and methods of control, and assist the Environmental Supervisor with inspections.

You will operate and maintain Wastewater Treatment Plants and related systems, collect samples, set up monitoring equipment, and handle used oil and hazardous

Qualifications

• Hazmat Training completed; required 24-hour training.
• DOT & Hazardous Materials compliance training.
• Knowledge of wastewater and water treatment processes.
• Mathematical skills to perform complex wastewater and water calculations.
• 2+ years of experience in relevant role.
• Able to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs) in hot/cold environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all wastewater systems and evaporation equipment onsite.
• Collect water samples from streams, raw processed water, industrial wastewater, or water from other sources.
• Set up monitoring equipment to provide analytical information.
• Handling and disposal of Used Oil in totes and drums.
• Handling and disposal of Hazardous Waste.
