Job summary
Northern Star Resources Limited on a remote Alaska site is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support the Environmental Team with sampling, waste management, site inspections, and reporting tasks. You will oversee onsite contractors and assist in spill response while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
The role requires a BS in Environmental Science or related field, field experience, and relevant certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree or advanced degree in Environmental Science or equivalent training.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from laws, permits and safety publications.
- Current Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass a background check and post-offer physical.
Responsibilities
- Conduct compliance monitoring and quality control audits.
- Write and maintain environmental plans.
- Understand and apply permit questions and regulations.
- Conduct field inspections and prepare reports.
- Develop and update waste management policies and procedures.
- Train site staff on proper handling of hazardous waste.
- Collect, synthesize, and report environmental data.
- Maintain sampling documents and records.
